Greetings in the name of Jesus, the strong Son of God! Welcome to the web site of New Town United Methodist Church. This welcome comes straight from my heart as the Lead Pastor of New Town U.M.C. You probably noticed our logo on our home page, which features a pineapple beside our name with a phrase in quotation marks below. The pineapple is a traditional symbol for hospitality, which says, “Welcome!” A warm welcome awaits you at New Town U.M.C. The phrase in quotation marks says, “A Community with Purpose.” We are a Spirit-filled United Methodist Church, which follows the Purpose Driven Model.
The Purpose Driven Model seeks to balance God’s five basic guiding purposes in our lives and in the Church. Our purpose statement contains those five purposes. Our purpose statement is as follows:

Our initial public worship service occurred on February 27, 2000. We are a new, dynamic, and growing church. Our current worship service seeks to be culturally relevant in its presentation of the Good News of Jesus Christ. We put an emphasis upon small group ministry so that as we grow as a church there will be a place where a group of people will know your name, where you can establish intimate Christian friendships, and experience ongoing nurture. Our emphasis upon small group ministry is our way of saying that we must grow larger and smaller at the same time as a church.
